Three on principle different versions to chose from:

The version Media-Player only has of cause no power amplifiers and fort his reason no binding posts. The same is true with the Cinch connectors, those appear when the units is converted to a pre-amplifier. Still remaining from a pre-amplifier are the four Toslink inputs. Those are on the Audio-Prozessor-Board on a regular basis and fully functional. The Toslink output is for the Media-Player “the gate to the world”. All the audio data to be processed by other electronics come from here in optical domain.

In contrast to the Media-Player only the Pre-Amplifier contains four Cinch connectors minimum on the rear. In case there are only those four, two of them handle digital electrical signals (2x SPDIF) and the other two act as an analog stereo input. The Toslink output still remains “the gate to the world”. In case there are eight Cinch connectors in  addition six of them give three analog inputs. The remaining two do have a very important meaning to most users: this analog stereo output (AUX-DAC) feeds all the analog or digital inputted and digitally processed data D to A converted. They carry high level signals scaled. Scaled means that they do have volume influence and are dedicated to modulate analog power amplifiers. This Pre-Amplifier does not necessarily contain the Media-Player, but of cause it’s possible to be up-graded, depending on the option possibly without hardware intervention.

For sure the Integrated Amplifier has power amplifiers included in the same housing as well as binding posts. He is always a pre-amplifier at the same time. This is why he always offers the selected input signal on the Toslink output, regardless if the source is analog or digital from external, or if it is the contained Media-Player. Here also applies: the Integrated Amplifier not necessarily contain the Media-Player and can be up-graded. And if analog or additional electrical SPDIF inputs are present this is only a matter of choice.
