Products - behold Classic - Phono Stage - Audio Section

Features of the Phono- and Digital Audio Section:

Very Low Noise Input Stages

The input stages of the PSD192 are equipped with the audio operational amplifier AD797 known as the most low noise device available. This enables a schematic design allowing maximum flexibility, no coupling capacitors and very low noise at the same time.

MC and MM Cartridges

Using the gained flexibility the design is useful for MC and MM cartridges equally.

Wide Gain Range

At the same time a wide range of gain this achieved. It can be set from 0dB to +6dB, +12dB, +18dB and +24dB.

Direct 24Bit/192kHz A/D-Conversion after Pre-Amping

Directly after the pre-amping the A/D-conversion is done on a very high level of 24Bit/192kHz sampling rate. Doing this no analog equalisation is performed which would have caused all the known errors of analog equalisation accompanied by such a design. This obtains the loss of coupling capacitors also.

Digital Phono Equalizer

The digital phono equalizer achieved by a DSP runs at the full sampling rate of 192kHz. This equals with the sampling rate associated with SACD or DVD-Audio.

Tuneable Digital Gain

At the same time the DSP does the fine tuning of the phono gain. The tuning range covers -10dB to +12dB in steps of 0.1dB.

Preset Equalizer Functions

The PSD192 contains eight equalizer functions ready for selection by the front panel button or with the configuration software myPSD. Those are:

RIAA, RIAA (IEC), TELDEC, AES, Columbia LP M33, NAB, NARTB and London M33+M45.

User Defined Equalizer Functions

Just in case you want to playback vinyl records using equalizer functions not contained within the preset ones, you can easily generate them by your own. This can be done by inserting the time constants or by modification of a preset one.

D/A-Converter with 192kHz Sampling Rate for the Analog Output

The analog outputs are driven by D/A-converter with 192kHz/24Bit sampling rate and offer a low impedance audio signal at standard level of 2.4Vrms. The output connectors are gold plated Cinch sockets.
